I bought this Nitro last year from a friend. It had been sitting in his barn for the last 25 years. It still needs a few items but I have had fun restoring it. Ruppeagle

Here's a pic of the 34 sprint.I wan't to post some before and after pics on the same thread but haven't figured it out yet. Ibought it last fall it was in a unused chicken coop with a 72 Yankee 30.The skis had 30 years of dirt but no rust. Ruppeagle

Nice looking sled, where is the w.shield?I raced a 72 400 in Mich.was #1 for a while but ended up tied up with Bud Bennet in #2 in Mich,#1 was Dwight Ballenger who lives in N.M.,My daughter who works in Traverse at the airport was working up a ticket for a guy and reconized the name and asked if he used to race Rupps,he did and she asked if he remembered Jerry Ross,he did and gave her his tele #,we talked about those times ,small world.I was #2 in 71 on a 400 Magum,I believe #1 was a guy named Blackwell or Blackman. That 72 400 started my business Speed & Sport Inc. in 74 by going by a lot GPXs & SRXs,on short tight tracks. There are a few things to do that will make that sled much faster, along with some things I did to the Sno Pro Magum that Bill Stull #151 bought from me

My dad wanted to help me work on a Rupp, because he was sitting in the chair watching, so I had him clean this old sprint gas tank. When he was done, it looked like brand new inside. I have to keep him busy...

Arcticdeere79 It has a Keihin carburetor.I bought a original carb kit at a swapmeet. I then took the carb apart and then dipped it in cemdip overnight. Then put it in a bucket of hot water sprayed it with carb cleaner and used compressed air to clear it out. when I took it apart I made a diagram for the idle and high speed mixture screws and set them back to their original settings. It runs great and haven't had any problems yet. I run the same oil ratio as the previous owner.

The last number is the year. Yours is a 1973. The 72's are contac points and the 73's are C. D. ignition
