Depending on condition of glass and seat I'd say $400 up to $900. Photos would help for sure. Does it have the stock "buck horn" exhaust? If so it may be a bit more money. And this is US dollars. And remember, I'm no expert, it's just my $.02.

I've seen pics of this sled on Kijiji, I believe...not worth as much as they're asking in that condition, w/no seat...tracks are pretty $, if you can find them...my 2 cents

I tend to agree with Snikr about value on a 72 Nitro. Between $400-$900 depending on just how much it needs. I happened to have paid $900. for one myself a couple of years ago and felt lucky yo have found it, even though it had some hidden issues like drivers, and a not so great track!
72's are a tough find!

Ihave'nt seen as many 340s as I see the 295s and 440s out there. As much as the value goes, I would tend to go with $400. 00 on this just because it had a 340 on it and that was if it was in at least restorable condition. After that, you could look forward to spending another 6 to 8 on a track, rebuilt suspention, and drivers and Idlers. Hang on to yourselves if you think this is getting too pricy......... After about 150 hrs of hard work, and another 400.00 is whatever your going to need, now you can take it riding. On average, a good quality reliable rider will go you at least $1200.00 these days. In retrospect, on the east coast anyway, I find this to be a fair value as you will with regular maintenance get hopefully about 1800 miles out of it before it needs a total overhaul again and this translates itself to about a buck a mile, not to mention the 15 years it might take to put this many miles on it. It is a far better value than the $10,000.00 and intrest you'll get out of buying a new sled. The day of the $50.00 rider is gone. You'll not meet better folks and have as much fun and forfillment as you would till you get yourself out there on this great sled. PRICELESS.

I'm with Seacoastrupp. Give me a higher priced sled that needs little or no work and you always come out better. Let someone else put in all the labor hours and just inspect the sled real well before you put down the money. That's not to say that I always follow my own advice. It's just that I'm a slow learner but I'm finally getting it.

there are $50-100 sleds out there just probably not a nitro or magnum the 150 hrs is why were into vintage sleds and looking for good deals so we hope the $1200. or more is just part of it so buy it if you think its a good deal then start the labor and the satisfaction you did it and get to enjoy riding your rupp racing is optional buy its Worth it

turns out that this is basicly a parts sled because the tunnel is also trashed. suspension is repairable, engine and exhaust is intact, secondary and clutch are usable. It has enough parts so that I can finish my existing nitro. I think I may have done reasonable on the price. yellowlab2 what price was this machine advertised for on kijiji

Saw it first for $800., most recently for $500. Many of these Rupp sleds that were raced have tunnel damage...not quite the same aluminum construction technology as today...

thanks for the info yellowlab2 I agree that the old tunnels don't have the quality of alloys or construction as the new breeds. I guess I didn't do too bad on the price then.
