Ok heres the skinny and i'll try to keep it short.
I have a 1970 WTE 440 sno sport. i bought it 2 years ago. havent rode it once
several small things holding me back even tho ive done quite a bit to it already... ugh
Carb! I dont have one. well i do but its toast. previous owner cleaned it with some rocks, and ice pick, and battery acid i think. was a Tilly HD 38a. i havent seen one on ebay, in classifieds, anywhere. convert to Mikuni? but what size mik? just measure the hd38 bore, compare to a similar size mikuni, jet rich as hell and go from there? thats my biggest problem!
Exhaust! theres a 2-1 coming off the jlo, then a U bend that widens and connects to the muffler. muffler and 2-1 collector y pipe thing are good. But the "U bend" thing is rusted thru. it goes from like 1.5" in to 2" out or something. reaaaaal thin metal and rusted to hell. I daydream about putting 2 tuned pipes on it, making a TON of noise, and not moving all that fast... but seriously now... does anyone know what pipe im even talking about? I've been looking for months... I think i'm going to have to take a picture and put a want ad out, beg, plead, and cry... or make some pipes and be a dumbass.
Flywheel puller! what the heck is it? I want to change that crank seal. I know i saw one for like 60 bucks... im pretty sure the guy was missing a decimal point tho or something.... 60 dollars? seriously?... what size are they, thread count, pitch, maiden name, yada yada. i know a guy with a lathe that likes beer.
If i cant get the pipe i'll patch it somehow till i find one. but i NEEED a carb. I'm not sitting here in northern WI with my rupp in the garage for ANOTHER winter. I'm begging! pleeeease help me figure this carb shit out. I dont want to buy a carb and have it be too big or too small, get the wrong pump, or burn up a piston,
