Whether you're "in the loop" or not.

I was in the build off, I guess I just didn't get the low down on everything goin on. If my opinion means anything, I don't think it really mattered who did what on whose sled. Bill painted my glass and I also got a lot of parts from him. I also got a lot of parts from Rick, Kevin, and Gary Weese. Glenda made my cover which turned out awesome! I guess what I'm saying is, would there have been any way to build 10 sleds without the help of somebody from this crowd?

I was at Bill's shop quite a few times trying to come up with a hood that fit good and also picking up my painted glass in January. I didn't see johns sled there. There was 2 liquid nitros being built, an f/a, and his race sleds. None of those models were even in the show. So I didn't see anything being built for the build off, just my .02

By all accounts your Super Brute is perfect. It takes help from the people who specialize. Some paint, some build engines, some upholster etc..They're to be applauded. We need'em.

Thanks for the compliments! also you are Exactly right, without all those people slinging parts, sleds just couldn't get restored. Or very few could get restored. Without people making glass, seats, repop parts, it wouldn't be possible. I had a ton of people to thank with my project. I got down to one week to go and my handlebars went missing at the plating place. Rick was nice enough to lend me his so I could make the show. A years worth of work and I was in one hell of a jam! The rupp guys are a great family to be a part of!!

Rick, you took the time to tell me,by phone, that your suspicions were confirmed. Someone told you that Bill built Jon's sled. Not true,of course. You tell us that the hatin's over between you and Bill, in the interest of this hobby and Rupp collectors and restorers. Then I'll put the pipe down. You getting more weird as you get older and I really didn't think that was possible. Will the real magnesium please stand up.
