Has anyone seen markings like this on a Kohler Piston/Cylinder? This is from a K340-2AS that I recently replaced the rings on and was surprised and a bit puzzled by these markings. They are both correctly marked as "blue dot" but I have never seen the "T" stamp or the "X" over the color code? Could this be some kind of warranty stamping? Also, the Mikuni carbs look a bit odd with the intakes curved in by the choke plunger ports. Is this some sort of MOD and what purpose would it have? This motor has always run "wet" and had low compression which is why I changed out the rings but just curious if anyone has some information on these markings... Thanks - Stretch

The carbs had a flat spot on that side due to the airbox. But that looks like a homemade job with a hammer.

I just can't for the life of me guess why someone would do that? What possible affect could it have on the performance if any? Just thought it was odd...
