Is there any options out there for new gaskets or do I have to dig for a decent one out of a donor?

Here's and option for the gasket. I have used black rtv silicone. Fill the groove in the cover, when dry put back together. Its not under pressure and a cheap fix if you can't find one.

I use silicone , but put it together right away. That way it fills in the voids. Don't fill it up until it is dry. Clint

I use RTV silicone. I fill the chain case before the sillycone is dry it don't matter if it is dry or wet when you fill the chain case. If it leaks wet it will still leak when dry.
