Got a little sidetracked, the weasel had a receiver so I had to make a ball mount for it to move my trailers Attachment Deleted

That is a creative idea, looks like it might be good that there are wheelie bars on it!

I wanted to put the hitch on the front but the weasel is pretty weak up front, have not tried it yet but it should move the 2 place trailers , would be nice to pull a small trailer at the swap meets

Upper chain case bearing is leaking oil! I do have the o-ring in place, using ski-doo mineral chain case oil, I'm guessing it is coming through the bearing seal? Should I replace it with a dual seal bearing? Do you put anything on the jackshaft/inner bearing race to seal it there? Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Attachment Deleted. I put oil in the bearing and it leaked through the seal! I am going to install a new double Seal bearing and new o ring, no more leaking chain Case ! Attachment Deleted

Enlarging the pic of the bearing on the right, I don't see the rubber lip for the seal. There are a couple of types of these bearings, sealed and shielded. Usually a sealed bearing has the rubber seals on both sides against the center race that are very visible. They are also packed with grease as they are not able to be greased externally (except with a grease needle). The shielded type will allow oil and such in, the "shields" are to keep the crud out, supposedly... Apologize if your aware of all this.

One I use often on the Merlin's is Permatex #3, light coating both sides... good stuff

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deletedew double seal upper bearing installed with new orings top and bottom, checked torque specks in my 78 cat manual and they picture a double seal bearing! We had a little snow and getting freezing temps now, better get this sled back together!

Attachment DeletedWe finally have snow! Nitro runs very strong! Old voltage regulator failed and burnt the headlite and tailite. Will have to replace them, hot grips and thumb warmer get very hot even on low setting. Electric temp gauge reads on the very hot end - too much voltage.
