Earlier this "Winter" I tried to get my '72 Nitro 400 out for a spin on the rare snow...it wouldn't stay running, though, after running great after I picked it up last Spring and had it our show in the Summer. So, I ditched the Keihin carb and replaced it with a good Tilly I had on another sled. It ran great right away, on the stand, so I figured it was good to go. Came home today, after our largest dump of snow came last night (I would say largest of this Winter, but it's April!!), fired it up and did some really hot laps of my yard. It ran great, and was VERY quick out of the hole...until I stopped to take a couple of pics...it idled down, and down, and down, and died...after that, it didn't want to start and stay running! I disgustedly nursed it back into the shed, and now I figure I'll be pulling that carb apart again this Summer...it was fun for the few minutes it lasted...reminds me of something, but I forget what that is...

Thanks! Was built by Don Break (whose Dad was a Rupp dealer in the area) to grass drag years ago, then sat retired until he began selling off his collection prior to his move to BC. I replaced the worn drivers, and put back in the original slider suspension. Not sure what he did to the clutching, but it KAPOWS out of the hole...unfortunately, my yard is pretty short! I hope to be able to run it in the radar runs at Shelburne, ON next Winter!
