You have to love the Chevette that puts it on the lid, that purple Olds did a 3-4 turn barrel roll last year and he fixed the car up for this years comp.
The Gremlin guy said he wanted to put it on the roof but instinct made him lift.

Here's last years comp:

It is amazing how many show up for this yearly event, to get nothing but bragging rights.

for those of you who dont know me and what i did before snomobiles and snowmobile racing i used to drag race all over the country. the 2 groups' i raced with were the outlaw super stocks and the n.m.c.a. i finally just raced with outlaw super stocks. we were the head liners for the super chevy shows that aired on e.s.p.n. through out the summer months. ware this wheely contest is, is byron ill. we raced there at least 2 times a month through out the summer. this wheely contest started years ago. i only entered it one time. i fineshed 2nd. and at that point it was for bragging rights. my car a 1970 corvette i would set it up to carry the wheels through 1st and 2nd gear. but then this contest changed it was to see how high they could get there car to go in the air then it would come smashing down to the ground. this was not worth it to me to smash the crap out of my car. but now it is no longer for bragging rights, last year when i was there watching 1st place was $10,000.00. i heard that it was going to be up to $15,000.00 this year. i dont know that for sure though. i did not go this year. my corvette was completly street legal with a 452 cu. in. big chief pro stock motor. single dominator and lots of nitrous oxide. the car weighed in at 3280lbs. with me in it and the best i went in the 1/4 mile was 8.04 at 174.8 m.p.h.. to quilify for the out law super stocks we were required to do wheely's but we did not have to do what you see going on here at byron. i'll see if i can get some pictures up. dave i'll probly need your help on this. b.s.

You were street legal with approx 1,100 hp if i remember correctly Rear tires were all wrinkled and the front end off the ground I would love to see the old ESPN classic reels and check out some good old competition ;D
