Check this one out - the machine on the right is a 2007 Yamaha Apex, left is a 1000 Arctic Cat triple. I have an '07 Apex and it is dangerous on the grass, this clip shows why. Apex gets a lot better start in clip #2 with obvious results.

One other thing - it's not me in the video, not me narrating the video either, I just picked it up off YouTube. Keep "young ears" away or turn down the volume!

Just a thought here, Dale's F/A 340 timeslips and Tracy's L/C 440 500' times are a tad quicker than most of the new 7 & 800 cc sleds, now THAT'S scary ;D ;D

I have an old test from Snow Goer magazine here somewhere and I can't seem to put my hands on it right now, but in 1977 the 440 L/C Nitro was clocked at 85mph in the 1/4 mile, only a few mph less than the current 800cc sleds run. The real amazing thing about it was that this speed was accomplished at 5000 feet in Denver, CO, and no spikes in the track! Wish they would have tested the sled at sea level, cetainly it would have run several miles per hour faster. The Rupps of the day didn't get very much publicity as Rupp was teetering on going out of business and didn't have thr promotion bucks of the bigger companies. Too bad, way ahead of their time.

Remember, sleds are for snow, not water.

Also, be careful when climbing hills. Used Yamaha for sale.
