Tom, Nice rules ...my daughter new my rules and wanted never to have to be in a confrontation with me about them. She made it VERY clear to her dates that I was crazy and if riled up and that he never wanted to see me in that fashion.. I like the cell phone commercial with the "fav five" the dad telling the boy date..."its like I'm watching you all the time"

Brandt, my girls knew the rules and respected them. I just used these to get a read on the dates. My girls trust in my instincts and ask about how I felt about their dates after meeting them. (Cool huh?!) The boys were told that the rules were just a joke but not to tick me off. My youngest's boy friend had to show these to his parents and they laughed so hard. She has a good one! And I hope for the best! Whats funny though is that she is 95lbs and 5'3" and he is 190lbs and 6'5". (What a pair )

Many boys were intimidated by my daughter and her mechanical/automotive know how. She grew up at the drag strip, helped me through the years with anything on the race car, trailer, truck etc. She knows how engines, trans, rear ends etc work and understands them. So many of the younger guys have no clue on mechanical items and once finding her knowledge of mechanics went elsewhere because they didn't want to be at the drag strip with her when she was helping me

Interesting.................... The day this conversation started I found my self involved in the exact situation. First, how old is my girl? The answer is, old enough to be interested in boys but not old enough to make all of her own decisions. A few nights ago ( aprox Sunday) A young man has asked her out. He is now on different terms. He is no longer just a Guest in my home. He is now Involved with the Family. I asked him to make sure he was gone by 10:00 pm on school nights. Two days straight i had to remind him. The next day I informed him I was pissed off by his lack of effort to meet my request. At 7:30 pm I once again explained to him, OUT BY 10:00. 10:20 he is ready to come and say good by. I am know EXPLAINING to him that his lack of RESPECT has now questioned My thought on, if you will dis-respect me in my own home by not honoring my wishes, Then how am i to trust that you will respect my girl. Do not come over or call my house for the next 3 days. He understood. Today he called me and asked to come over. I said he needed to speak to me upon arrival. I talked , He listened. He now understands Respect and understands who Charlie is. Dave

Charger We have a 71 Duster coming in this weekend, that'll keep me busy until fall ;D Sorry to drag out this old post, but you remember that Duster I told you about? It's here now And it's a Demon, not a Duster, (sorry) fact. 340/4spd. and a narrowed 69 Charger rear end, it had M/T slicks on it but wouldn't fit on his trailer, check out that vintage American Racing Products adj. wing!! This car sat in the shed since 1985, when it was parked :oIt's nice to know this baby will be shredding pavement again soon..it's just not right keeping it in captivity that long you can click on the thumbnail to expand the pics...
