this is last years model , it made it 70 miles out of 100, chaise & track was 73 nitro, 70 340ss motor,71,72 sprint hood steering bar, she was heavy and kind of a pig, i had it clutched for 6000 rpm to a T to stay in the power-band but i left the secondary alone from the nitro and the gears ratio out of the nitro, that was my first time building and racing and was the only rupp out there any tips, tricks or set-ups,advise would be greatly appreciated, i want to make her fly like them yamies do and there all steel!!

Might want to try a gear change?? That Sachs is a tough match for those reed yamis, here on the east coast the yamahas are tough to beat as well.. The other diference I see is Boggie(Yam. ) suspension, versus slide rail.. depending on the conditions of the day, the boggie suspention did better. Wich suspension had the least rolling resistance. As far as Rubber tracked vs. cleated track you were about the same if they were both stock.

I have a 71 sprint with the 290ss I can not help you on clutch and gearing but on my sled I cross braced the steering hoop and braced from the footwell brace up to the steering hoop also. This made the whole front of the sled much stiffer. Keep up the good work and keep posting pictures.

13-28 gears are you running slides? We run a set of idler wheels in the tunnel to keep the track off the suspension. What are you running for pucks as to grams? What kind of exhaust? What is your timing set at?
