I finally got my 74 Nitro II completed and to an official race. It ran great today for first time out. Placed 3rd in the 440 FA final Placed 6th in the 440 fan final BOTH finals my throttle hand slid up to activate the kill switch. :)You can be assured that this switch will be inactive for next race. ;D Now I can update my signature line....

It's a ton of fun and REALLY enjoyable when the Rupp is running good and you can pick any line on the ice and it goes there! There are lots of Yammies, a SnoJet or 2, several Trail Twister and some type of Polaris fan (with the Centurion hood) that was in the class. It's the largest class in BEVRA and as somebody told me, the most competitive. All I wanted to do was to run ice ovals. I have to say I am HOOKED! I need a Nitro FA to build for the next sled.... any sponsors out there...

The bar is my steering linkage. The Comet 102C that I wanted to run hit the steering arm on the clutch side so I cut the arm and made an outside tie rod that runs across the sled to tie the L and R spindle together. The steering uses the stock tie rod to the ignition side spindle. Some simple brackets mount to the leaf springs to use as a connection point for the cross-chassis tie rod. This configuration is so much easier to adjust the toe! This allows the engine to be mounted as low as possible in the Nitro II chassis and still run the Comet clutch.
