in the Rupp tracks. I guess all the tracks I've run so far, have had the steel drive bars in the track!! I have parted some sleds out that had the Kevlar for drive bars. Other than being light,I see NO advantage of running a track with Kevlar used in the drive bars. OR am I wrong in assuming that. Pros & cons of using the tracks with Kevlar bars. I'll start: Pros: 1.) Light weight! Cons: 1.)Probably don't last as long as steel

Dan, The fiberglass/ kevlar bared tracks start comming out in 73, Most were used in the involute drive tracks 74+. They suck! if you have a good one, sell it only to someone who is building a trailer queen, it should last a long time that way. The fix for these was to cleat them to offer some reinforcment when they started to break. So much for a wieght advantage.. as forest gump would say... And thats about all I have to say on this thread....LOL

I have parted out some 71- 440WT that had Kevlar drive rods. Also some 73 American tracks with Kevlar. Even had a 72 Yankee with Kevlar rods. They are out there,BUT have never used them!!!
