Looking for an alternate method to clean the external surfaces of my aluminum heads cylinders and crankcase other than sand/soda blasting. Let me know what worked or didn't work.....thanks..Jim...

I just used a 3 to 1 solution of transmission fluid and acetone to clean my crankcase from a xenoah 440 liquid. The case looks brand new now.

Did you soak the whole case and wire brush it after or just spray it on and rise it off? More details are appreciated....

I let it soak for a couple of hours and brushed it with a small paint brush.

I haven't got to that job yet as i had some other items that needed attention. Will likely get to it in the warmer weather. Will post an update when i eventually get to it and let you know how i made out.
