Hey there's a rock band in Minnesota with the same name Mr Peabody. Do you know them? anyway back to the sleds, if I put my sled on a stand it revs up to about 8000 RPMS and the speedo reads about 80MPH (so I know the clutchs are opening all the way) I drop it back on to the snow and its back to 6000RPMS and mid 50s on the speedo. IM going to pull it apart this weekend and see what it has for gears and springs.

The first sled I ever raced was a 72 nitro back in 1978 at age 12, now thirty years later we won the waconia cup on a 72 nitro 440, this sled is incredible, it will knock off most trail twisters. Good luck on your 295.

From the way it sounds to me the 72 nitros are the sled! I'm starting think I should stop working on my 73 and pick up a 72. Anybody got one they want to get rid of? anyway, last week I picked up a 73 nitro 440 to use as a parts sled thinking I would use the clutch for my 295 and the track for my other 295. This sled looks really ruff, not a good body part anywhere. But before I striped it down I thought I'd see if it would run, well a couple of gas lines a filter a shot of starting fluid and one pull. Well !!! the thing runs and now I can't bring my self to strip it down, I've been out in my field riding it all after noon. Its a lot faster then the 295s! (nothing like getting side tracked form a project) Romanowski, way to go on the win at Waconia. You make all of us Rupp fans Proud! PS: how can I add a picture to the message?

Welcome to Rupp heaven! Bill Stull has the CDI boxes, and he can help you with any other questions you may have. There is also a Rupp parts supplier on here with a lot of nice parts, as well. Brandt is RuppParts, and Bill Stull is the Rupp shop. Good luck with getting your 295 going!

I think just about everyone with a nice Rupp is from MN!! I'm the lonely one out here in Albany, NY. Me, Dave, and Magnum Al, I think that's all we have! Of course, there are a couple of lonely hearts up in the Yukon, but MN seems to be the center of an awful lot of the action, real Rupp country!

I know for a fact there is 1 74 Nitro II, and several Rupp minibikes, small cycles and 1 Mean machine race kart in Florida. I have seen them and it just happens to be the founder/creator of all our product conversations here

I have been to RUPP marine I did not get to meet Mickey but he did autograph a few pictures of some of my sleds. I got to see his office and got a RUPP hat and some decals of RUPP marine. Now if you would have run into some off shore fisherman and asked them about RUPP outriggers and other deep sea fishing gear they might have know the name.

we just bought a little country place with 3.5 acres by North Port, thats inbetween Tampa and Fort Meyers on the golf side. Where does the great one hang his hat in Florida? maybe I'll take one of the old sleds down with me next winter and work on it while the wife and kids do the beach thing. Anybody have and old jet ski we can modify? I have a couple of spare Rupp hoods!

the 1974 nitro 2 and the 1972 rupp motor on display in mickey's office, he bought them from me a few years back. mickey said the 1974 nirto was his favorite sled. they were testing this sled already in 1972 also he told me. at that point it would of had a tohatsu in it. cool!!! b.s..

Hey Bill: Does he realize how he is idolized with all the old Rupp collectors? No matter who owned the company or built the sleds after he was out of the company, it was all still his legacy at work.
Sticks - great idea, we could all chip in - put Elvis on it, if anyone can get it done, he can! Wig

i could try to get him to come but he just is not interrested in it any more. when he was forced to sell the company he lost all love he had for the sport he said. i know there is still something there or i think he probly would have not bought a motor and sled from me. i'll give him a call sometime and see what he says. b.s.
