76 440 nitro, find and restore

Picked up another nitro that I found in the weeds in a salvage yard, this one has an excellent tunnel and bulkhead and that's exactly what I was looking for. between the one I picked up in march and this one I'll have plenty of parts to finish one. oddly enough both the nitro's I've acquired have low serial numbers, the March find is #001, this weekends find is #005, I'm building 005 and I'm pumped !!!.

Will do, it’s gonna be a long process but, I’ll ask questions and post pic’s of the progress as I go.

and so it's begun , I made quite a bit of progress on the suspension, just need to polish the rails and start re-assembly, should have that wrapped up by Sunday. Found a few cracks in the usual places on the tunnel, hope to have that welded up in the next week or so. I should have some suspension pic's on the weekend

suspension is complete, moving on to the tunnel next. its needs a couple welds here and there but nothing serious.

complete rebuild of the secondary is now complete, starting on the chain case, tunnel still isn't welded up yet, hopefully in the next couple weeks.

Thanks, due to a family member health issue, I have to give up much of the work on this sled for the moment, I did give the tunnel to a friend to get it welded up so, that's progressing. hopefully by the end of the month I can get back to working on the chain case. I'll add more pics once I get going again...
