Nice job Sticks. I hope my 295 looks half that good when I'm done with it. Of course by then my now 2 year old grandson will be able to drive it (yes I'm that SLOW!)

Of course she's going to race! She and her brothers have been on there own sleds from the age of 3 Rachels trail sled is a Red formula S Ski - Doo w/electric start. she has been on that for the last couple of seasons, now my problem is every time I get off my F-7 she jumps on that and I end up on her sled!

Well, I finally got back to working on some sleds today! Put fresh gas in Rachels Nitro and got it running after about 25 pulls. I couldn't get it to idle, so I hit the kill switch and started to check things over. Did a compression check on it and had 170 pd on the pto side and I only had 90 pd on the recoil side. Pulled the exhaust and looked in the cylinder and the bottom ring is gone! So now I have clean up another motor! Damm I thought I was done!

Man that sucks !! I've already ran into NOS 72 pistons that the piston ring locating pin fell out from sitting on the shelf. Maybe this happened to you. Ring mighta turned and the ring ends ended up in the exhaust port. I hate to say this but alot of the old NOS parts turn bad from sitting around.

Tom you should go through the motor before you put it back into the sled. You might want to switch that 72 over to CDI as long as you have it a part. Better yet put a 73 motor in it.

That's what I was thinking! I have a 73 295 with a bad track in it. I could pull the motor from it and turn the rest of it into a parts sled. What I would really like is to fine a 73 340 motor for it. Most of the radar runs we hit the intro class is 0 - 340cc there are very few of them that break it down more than that.

Pistons are kind of hard to find for the 340s motors.

Don't think for one minite she wouldn't drive it! she alway's drive's my Arctic Cat F 7, I'm starting to re think that the 295 was to small for her anyway. That was more to get her mother of my back then her ability to drive it.
