Rick, I'll probably be in also, just trying to decide if I want to take the bulkhead back off the tunnel that I just reinstalled, otherwise its still bare (no chaincase etc.), just to take a pic. Larry leave the bulkhead on it. You really haven't started to build it yet. If any of you other guy's have a bare tunnel with a bare bulkhead on it you can start with that. What we are after is sleds built just for this build off and not one that has already been done. I will still need the pictures though. You don't have to tell me or anyone what you are building if you do not want to. It just has to be a Rupp or built mostly out of rupp parts. Rupp glass is a must....

I'm 100% in, but are there any rules? What are the guidelines? Customs, restored originals, over restored or is it anything goes as long as its rupp? Just trying to decide if I should do my 67 just for this event that will be original, or do a full blown custom build I have here on paper?

Ed it is pretty much wide open as long as it is built mostly out of Rupp parts. You can get away with non Rupp parts like Track, Handle bars, Seat, dash-console, gas tank, speedo tach and stuff like that. You have to use a Rupp tunnel, Bulkhead, Skis, glass, engine. All or any of this can be reproduction parts, NOS or used.

Here was something that was asked of me tonight. Can a person use any motor they want? Sorry nope. You can use any motor made by a manufacture the Rupp used. Like... Hirth, Sachs, JLO, Tohatsu, Kohler and Xenoah.
ALSO the sled must run and at least be able to spin the track on a sled stand with motor power.

We have 7 Guys. It's 2 more then I planed on but I think 7 is a good number and should draw out some very nice sleds. I will list all of the names in a day or 2.

To give everyone time to think about if they want in on the build off. I am going to make the deadline.....
....................OCTOBER 31 2013........................
Seeing as how this is the first time this is being done new Rules may come up as people ask about them.
So here's another one...The sleds must be built by the person who's name is with the sled. You can not hire someone to build it for you. You can get someone to paint, do the seat, build the motor and stuff like that.
You will have to do the rest yourself. What I meant about getting help is like getting your wife or neighbor to help move the sled around or when you need more the 2 hands.
This is about who can build the best sled not who has the most money to have someone else do it for them.
If you want to have someone else build the sled you can enter it in the regular Waconia show.
I might ask for pictures of the sleds as they are being built.
Good luck guy's and let's keep it fair......
