I was looking through my.original Rupp manual[which has NEVER been apart] & noticed that the description page & number of item is missing. The right hand page shows item#154,but NONE of the other numbers,#1-153. I just discovered I have the descriptions for #1-#153.It was on one of my CD's.Thanks stretch.

Ok,does the 70,use a 3" S&W speedo with Rupp in red on the face plate under the glass? What type bearing housing is used on the right side front axel? Got a picture? How is the right angle drive made? Held on with big nut? Screw into the bearing cover? How is the tail light fastened to the seat cover, other than just through the upholstery? Is the Hirth engine plate a flat piece of aluminum? Are the spindle bushings plastic or brass? Are the front springs,2 leaf, with square corners/lip on 1st spring? How thick is the seat foam? How high is the hump?Total length of seat?

Dan I forgot to look for the info for you last night. I'll check this morning. I have a chassis heading to Canada I'll check it out before it hits the road.

Dan, the speedo I believe just says Rupp its the 3" one the drive flange is part # 14900 the light is a round white one that just has an aluminum round backer the engine plate is a flat aluminum piece the springs are the the flat ones you described the bushings are brass and the seat measures roughly 3 1/4" thick the hump is roughly 7" total length is about 34 1/2"

The bearing housing has me stumped,is it marked on the piece with the number you listed? Is it aluminum? There are about 3-4 different housings. The taillite is white? I have red or orange.I just picked up a really nice speedo,in the last sled I just bought. Thanks for the reply Dan.

I'll try to get a picture of the bearing housing it is steal painted black. The tail light on the magnum's was a round white housing the regular'70 sleds with backrests were black housing.

Thanks Dan. Yup,I've probably got the right one, just have to know what it looks like.Yes,I have the number 14900 in my book, but I don't think the steel housing were stamped with the number. They made 3 different steel ones.one for NO speedometer. One with outside threads.ONE with inside threads.I've got everyone Rupp ever made.As far as I can tell,ONLY the aluminum ones were stamped with a number.
