Hi Dave, Thought I'd send a couple pics of my latest project. I've been wanting to do something different so I went for it with this one. I started out with a 70 Sprint then added motor and chaincase assembly from a 71 WT. Made a custom seat fram a 76 Nitro. Added track drivers from a John Deere. Then installed track and suspension and rear bumper from a 97 XLT. ended up with a light vintage rider with a pretty decent ride. Enjoy the pics. Post them if you want. Joe Francis How Awesome is Joe !! Joe when i hit it BIG ! I want to hire you FULL TIME !!!!!! Thank you for sharing with all of us. Dave.

It was a fun project. I needed something for the vintage relic rides instead of trying to ride one of my Magnums(took out a piston last year.OOOUCH!!). Dave, wait till you see the next one. I'm gonna try and transplant a 440 Xenoah mod with the big bore kit into a 77 Kawi/Sno Jet. Friend of mine keeps a 1/2 mile track plowed on the lake in front of his house. Gotta put something together to race his 3D Sno Pro. Should be fun.

Resto-mods are becoming widely accepted in the classic car world...why not with classic sleds? Now there's something you can actually ride and not worry that you are risking an ultra valuable sled. Looks like it was fun to build and will be a hoot to ride! Great job!

Dave, We took it out on a Relic ride at the Little Lake show and it was a blast. It was surprisingly nimble and rode really nice with that suspension however I didn't make the whole ride. Rubber gasket let go behind carb where the internal impulse line is so she quit pumping gas and died. All fixed now, now my wife is trying to claim it so I guess i'll have to get the Sno Jet project on the hurry up so I have something to ride. Going to start that one next week, should be interesting. Joe

That'll DO!! It really wasn't that hard to do, I actually had more trouble making things fit under the hood after I lowered chaincase 3/4 inch. This caused belt to hit motor mount so I relocated it also driven clutch was hitting exhaust(73 Nitro) so I had to put a small dent in it. After installing 8 tooth track drivers from a John Deere it was a matter of transfering measurements from XLT to tunnel/drill holes and track and suspension bolted right in. Their were a couple other minor mods but nothing serious. Maybe i'll throw it in the trailer when we go to Gregs this summer. If your there you can look it over then start hunting parts to make one. I took it to a couple shows and it was kinda funny the reaction it got, people would just look at my show sleds but they would get down on their hands and knees to see how I made everything fit on this sled.

Wig, the motor is in the shop getting all checked out. I plan on bringing the chassis in this week to start on if it ever quits snowing. It snowed from daylight til dark today, wish it would quit for a few days so I can get out and play in it.
