Its amazing they survived all these years, although the new rumor from up north says that at least one is leaving Canada soon.

No such luck. Tracked him down and talked for a while. We talked about Lee's Speedway and the 650 Kohler. Of course the Allouette twin had a Sachs motor, but that doesn't mean much. I asked him about his twin tracker. Oh yes he had one, but it wasnt an Allouette. It was a Raider. He said he did lake race a Rupp at one time. Said he had a sled with the 650 Kohler, just wasnt the twin track. Neat stories, sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. No Allouette Sno Pro, though. Been very busy here the past week getting work done outside on this old farm before the snow returns again tomorrow night. I will go as far as stating I'm personally aware from 1st hand watching the fellow who had the Allouette had also been involved in at least 2 not on the up-and-up situations he created back then and its likely the Allouette had to be moved along without a trace for similar reasons including what he will tell complete strangers like you who contact him out of the blue...[/quote You have to be joking, Ed talked to the guy he seemed like a good guy. Now you slam him. Not on the up and up? I hope your not friends with this guy! Come on it was a fan cooled raider right?

Well regardless if it was a Manta or a Alloutte still a neat sled. As far as the now known Allouette TT it is said to be joining the Gilles Villeneuve museum collection. I couldn't think of a better place for it to be .

Those are the better ones. There's a good pic of Villeneuve and Ed Schubitzke (?) on the SRX. Check out the 73 Magnum. I sent a copy to George asking if it was him. He told me he has a 73 Magnum on loan to a sled museum in the USA,didn't say which one. I took those pics with my old Minolta. These days you can take hundreds of pictures with a digital camera and not worry about wasting film.

I found this on you tube.
Did't a 73 Magnum win the cup in 73. I think it was a driver from out east.

It could be Bill Bunn, a local racer from around here. I think he ran for Mid Hurst rupp or something like that. Bruno Capatelli also ran a 73 magnum but i don't believe it is him as his sled did not have the widening kit.

Wow that Magnum looks like a dinosaur next to the almost futuristic looking twin track! Villeneuve was a genius.
