Looks like its coming along nicely Magnumal, very nice save on that one...Im still surrounded by Nitro II parts! Im curious about the front bumper on your II........I have a 74 and it clearly never did have one on it. Ive seen others that did have one like yours (Troys maybe?) Mine had no bumper with a red decal triming that extruded alum. piece with ,of course , a banged up nose cowl. Know anything about this?? Anybody? I sorta want to make sure mines all there as it was originally. I looked at sled stuff decal kits and they have the red decals that would be covered up by the bumper thats on yours. ???Early, late build thing maybe?

I picked all my 74 nitroII sleds up back in the 80s to drag race in the fan class I had to keep buying them just to replace cdi boxes I could get whole sleds just as cheap as a new box . Some had bumpers some didn't

With me I never had the hood strap in place and the wind would always take it over and destroy nose and windshield

Dave and I got to do some ridding Sunday but I forgot to get video of it so I went back today just to try some of my ride . Not very easy to do alone. My sled is almost finished still waiting on half way decent seat to get finished also need to make hood fit better , I already broke one side for hood pins Iam thinking of going with magnum style .

Went on my first trail ride of the season today ;D About an hr and 1/2 ride all together . My buddy Dave couldn't make it so I went alone . No mechanical problems , just one ditch I wouldn't try , I made it on the way there but to steep coming out of a creek on the way back , I had to run the road a mile around to bypass ditch. I liked the way my nitroII ran . It was Good run all the water was frozen except where it was running fast.

Well new to the snowmobile thing and my one was given to me by my father-in-law its a 1974 Rupp Nitro II 440 it had been sitting for 15 years. I dragged it home to MN from IA. I change the oil cleaned out all of the old gunk in the fuel tank and put new fuel in. I pulled on it 10 time it started right up runs great. I have put about 10 miles on it and today the lights stop working not sure about how to go about trouble shotting it if anyone has a wiring diagrams for it or any ideas where to start that would be great!
