it finally Fired, and ran for a 5 Seconds before i shut it off...I'd not put the coolant in it yet (didnt want to have to drain it incase i had to pull it all apart again)

Now im doing that beofre i run it any more...anyone ever filled one of these? it takes for ever to pour a wee bit at a time, burp the theHoses...fill a bit more. Even withthe Rubber Plug removed from the thermostat box... how much coolant do they take?

Glad to hear you got her fired up! How much time do you have in to your sled now. I am 9 months of spare time in.
Yesterday i fired mine up in the drive way. I jast had to nail the throttle. She pulled the skis! NICE !
The only thing I have left is the cowl. Now that my 2 week vacation is over, I am going to take the cowl in to work and hand it over to our mechanic. He is a great glass man and painter. He will hook me up for a case of Beer. Nice to have friends. He will take his time and get it done b-4 the snow flies.
I think your sled is AWSOME !!! I will be looking forward to your next pic's. It would be nice if you could figure out how to get a video on the site. I would love to hear it fired up. Take er easy dave and keep up your AWSOME work ! Dave.

Sweeet , davet I believe a gallon of mixed coolant will do, they might not take this much but the manual calls for this amount ...2 Dave's (2 Rupps)and both are on the final downhill swing, this is cool ;D

had it running and spinning the trak today, but its a pig to start...i suspect the carb enrichment/tarter circuit is not adjsuted right.

Thanks Cory, a bit of a set back last night, pool of anti freeze under the sled

looks like the Water Pump leaking at the pulley seal....any one know if these are rebuildable or if replacements are available ?

hi dave, your sled looks absolutly buitiful. i think the aloutte decal package looks so much better than just the 76 nitro. i hate to say that but, i do like the 76 nitro also.
as far as the water pump issue goes the, water pump on these machines hardly ever fail. i would look closer at maybe there is a leak someware else and it looks like it is coming from the water pump. if indeed your water pump is leaking i have new and used in stock. i do not know of any rebuild kits for these pumps. let me know if i can help. thanks, b.s. 171

I do suspect the rear hose that attaches to the Pump isnt good, the Fabric Sheath on it is soaked.

That being said, i dont get any Coolant on my fingers from anywher on the pump (ie the hose attachement tubes) except if i slide a finger up the underside of the pump behind the pulley towards where the pump shaft seal would be (yes i have small gentle hands).

Ill see if i can find a Repl Hose First... i may need to check an autoparts store for a similar diamiter hose with a 90 degree bend to adapt to fit this.

Hi Dave, Your sled looks sweet, like Bill said the Alouette decals look really nice on these sleds. I also like the look of the Alouette ski's, don't know how well they function but they look pretty cool. Joe

i agree them 76 Brute decals are quite abit nicer than the 76 Nitro, (there's more to love) hey Dave make sure you wipe that antifreeze up before snosnake see's it
