OK, I need a little help. I made a port map to measure port heights for some duration calculations. I was going to use that same map to measure port areas but that would give me a much wider area than what I think to be actual. Because of the angles at which some of these ports are cut is the correct way to use some small dividers and place it inside the port and measure the width? So to say, measure the width of the tunnel that comes up the back of the cylinder. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks you crazy rupp guy.
Not building pipes. Want to see if my stock porting is up to todays standards.
Ok, so the port width is cord width from one side of the port opening to the other, less the radius.

Trace out your ports on a piece of paper that is taped so it will hold it's circumference. The port width must be measured while the port map is circular. If it is layed flat, it will exagerate the port area.

Thanks guys, I think the trick is watching out for the angle at which the ports enter the cylinder. I remember seeing that on the Mac Dizzy site. But it's not working anymore.
