Well, Rick, all I am saying is I did it on my '74 Nitro II 440 and it worked fine and shot out of the hole like a cannon round and with Klaws it handled fine. Don't know what is soooooo hard to believe about that.
And besides my L/C, Dana Bachmeyer ran his '77 Nitro at Waconia in a speed run in '01 or '02 and clocked 103 on radar. I guess I'm not the only one, mine did 102. He ran his around 9500rpm with 2 teeth longer on the bottom gear. Mine was tuned to run between 9500-10000 with stock gears when it hit the 102, again, oin radar. Do the math. It works. I guess 2 sleds doing the same thing on radar in 2 different states 20-something years apart still won't satisfy you, but being called a liar doesn't fly with me, sorry. You can argue with him about it, because I'm sure you won't believe him either. You are apparently the final word on this, so be it. End of discussion. Wig

Dana did that on his 77 Nitro ?? How do you know this ?? I never heard about Dana ever radar running the 77 Nitro. I might have to give him a call. He never told me about that.

Josh how long have you had dana's 77 nitro. 7-8 years now? You been racing the wrong sled there buddy. I do believe 103 mph at a speed run would be some kind of a world record.

I won't race or Jalopy Ride that sled. I'm trying to keep it as nice as possible to still take to shows. That little bit of history Wiggy posted got my attention. Rick, have you heard anything about the Onalaska Show ?? That was a nice little event. I hope that last year wasn't the last.

Wig one more question. You took a stock zenoah and ran it 10,000 RPM? That motor would be way off the power band at that RPM.

Man, you're obsessing over this, aren't you? It's fun to see something get under your skin like this. ;D

Ruppluver a friendly arguement never hurt anyone (especially when we live 1,000 miles apart.) Wig and i will both get over it. Dave don't even think about it.

All in good fun, but you guys did $hit all over this guy's thread.
The track is backward...turn it around if you ever take it apart. I wouldn't go out of my way to do it. The lugs on these tracks are really too short to have much of an impact. But try to make what's there work the way it's supposed to.
If Dana said that about his Nitro, he lied.

Well guys, are you done yet? How am I to know this was all in fun? It sure didn't sound like it . I talked to my engine mechanic who has been running sleds for many years. I asked him about the track,is there a right way or a wrong way. Surprise!! He came up with the same thing ,it can go either way. Depends on what you are doing with the sled. I've got Rupps running the tracks both ways. This winter,I will run them and see which way I prefer. Thanks guys!

ruppluver We are a pretty tight bunch here and a good heated debate happens once and a while but we all get over it sooner or later. If wig would have just told from the beginning that his sled hit 102 mph when it went over a cliff I would have understood then. THATS A JOKE WIG!!!!!!!! Eddie way do you always have to be the man in the tinfoil hat? ;D
By the way ruppluver I am the guy that got the job of stirring the pot on this site. Its a tough job but somebody has to do it.

Ruppluver: And I'm just an old crack whore who can't resist the temptation to get under Snake's skin! Sorry to mess up your thread - but it turns out I was right about the track, didn't it! Here's a little crack for you - this will brighten your day! Wig
