Well I have been lurking here for about a week and decided to join up. I recently bought a 76 Nitro 440 with the intent of oval racing in the SLEDS super stock class. I plan on being ready for the 2009 2010 season. I know there are some racers on here and I was wondering if some of you guys could give me some tips and tricks for racing. So far I have looked the sled over and come up with a lose idea of what I am going to do with the sled. I intend to go through every thing and replace all the bearing in the sled, use a Wahl or Anderson oval skid with an R series track 121x15x.5, north star racing skis, oval bars, different seat and tank, 102C primary and a Polaris secondary and completely rebuild the motor. Thanks guys for any input you have on this.
P.S. I used 80TXLMAN and not a Rupp-ish name because I am a member of some other boards and that is my name on there, so I did it so I would be recognized.

I would think biggest thing on the ovals is to keep them wound up as much as possible. Incredible horespower and torque as long as you keep the r's up. Good luck with the project!! Take lots of pics!! Wig
