Well yesterday i got my Magnum all back together for the ice. My brother got his 75 Nitro gone through for eagle river and checked over his 75 F/A for drag racing. Toward the end of the day yesterday after many beers Dad and Bro got thinking about throwing together another sled for eagle river. Anyways I got to the shop today at 2:00 and we dragged a 76 340 Nitro in the shop. This thing is a pile of crap. Skis are toed in 10 inches , hood is busted up, motor is locked up . You get the picture. But anyway. We had that sled stripped to the tunnel and bulkhead and I also had a nice 250 motor stripped down to nothing by 5:00 !!! So looks like hes going to be racing a stock 250 at Eagle River also. I'm just going to go through the motor and port it a bit and throw a new track under it and some race skis and away it goes. That was the extend of my weekend !!!

You should call good ole' Magnum Al - that sounds like what he usually starts out with and he gets them all running like crazy by the time he's done with them! Maybe he will sell you a can of that magic gold paint, that's what you REALLY need! LOL Good luck with the sled build - get some pics up, it would be great to see it come together. ;D Wig

Its going to be a very fast build. No time for pics. Besides there would be no before picture because its already ripped down to nothing !! We'll probably have it done by next weekend. Its not going to be a show piece thats for sure. But it will run. Anyone on here ever play with the 250's ?? We're going to be running a comet 102C I have no idea where to start with this. I never monkeyed around with anything less than a 440. Or anything bigger than a 440 !!!!! LOL

Paul are you running that 250 again this year ? I will be there to help Luke this year. Last year work wouldn't allow me to be there for friday night. So hopefully he won't be limping around on one cylinder this year !!!!!

Yep, the superstocker 250 merc, unchanged from last year is going back. That sled is just too fun. I have a ton of work to do on the trail twister and testing to boot, I have off work the 3 weeks prior to Eagle River so i'm not sweating it yet...... I also need to get my new trail twister for drag racing out on the ice, the Waconia cup class is "D" stock and that Sloper dude probally has been thinking how he wants his name engraved on that thing all year long. The competition should be real strong this year. Luke sent me an email today, you guys are more than welcome to use our 4 wheeler and skid at Eagle River. Good luck racing .

Josh, the 250 magnum looks nice, especially how you said it looked at the start. If you get 500 foot times around 7.50 seconds it will be running in the front of the pack. Lots of razor sharp carbide and studs with the rear skid sucked up to get good ski pressure it should handle well, Bill should have lots of tips on set up. See you in a couple weeks. Paul

Paul ... its a Nitro not a Magnum. I wish I would of took a before pic now. It was terrible. We did away with the L/C bumper. We felt it wouldn't be such a good idea for oval racing. Our test pond is all water now where we had it snowblowed off. Everytime I'm out at the shop I fire it up every 1/2 hour or so to get the motor broke in a bit. Luke needs to stud it yet then he should be able to get it out. It needs some serious test time.

you could do some water skipping with it to break it in.

Well as of today the 250 Nitro is faster than the 440 fanner. But the 440 has some issues that need to get worked out also but that little 250 is a handful. Fun little ride !!!

Josh, good to hear you are getting some testing done. I have been out a few times I think we are ready for Eagle River, I feel all 3 of our sleds are working well. I really like how the twisters feel this year. We will find out Friday night. We are coming up Thursday, see you guys next weekend.
