Has anyone tried putting different reeds and or cages in a liquid before. I was told that Polaris reeds could be cut to fit but I was hoping to try getting some v force reeds in there somehow. I would think you could make an adapter flange if the reed case had ample i.d. to work with. I also heard stories of people cutting the off the stock reed flange and welding on a modern flange but that's a bit drastic for my application. By the way I believe you can still buy boyesen reeds as the boyesen site still lists them for $74 and some change. I haven't found any of the traditional sources to stock them at this time though. Cory did you ever try those silencers you had on the stock pipes? ;D

The Boyesen dual-stage reeds are your best secondary choice. Some like them, some don't. I use them all the time, they give the liquids better low end power and really go great with clutching mods. Also, they pull through more fuel at high rpms than the stock version. One nice benefit is that they are made of composite, which will blow right through the motor if a reed happens to break. The stock metal ones detonate the bottom end if a petal breaks off. I wouldn't mess with other reeds unless you re planning on racing - the stock ports and reeds do just fine. Hope this helps. ;D Wig
