I believe this engine was stock in one of the 1970 Rupps. I was looking at buying the sled this engine came in a few years ago, and in the process bought one of these engines that still sits in my shop.

JLO was used on sleds and in Ruppsters

The S-23 used the small JLO engine, like that one. The 1970 295 Magmun used the 295-R, this engine had 6 head bolts and the spark plug was tilted back toward the driver.
