WHAT DO YOU MEAN SORRY!!!, AND WHAT PIECE OF PAPER ?THIS IS A ORGINAL PAMPLET OF THE 3RD DIMENSION AND ALL INFORMATION WITHIN THAT I GOT FROM GENE HIM SELF WHEN HE WAS INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME. THERE IS NO STORRY ABOUT IT EXCEPT WHEN RUPP WROTE THE THING. I NEVER SAID THE 3D WAS RACED IN 73, ALL I AM GOING BY IS WHAT THIS BROCHURE SAYS. BUILT IN FEB. OF 73. WHAT DO I HAVE TO GAIN BY SAYING THE SLEDS WERE BUILT IN THE WINTER OF 73 OR THE SUMMER OF 73. WE ALL KNOW THAT THE SLED WAS BUILT FOR THE 74 RACING SEASON OR WERE THEY TRYING TO BETTER THE 73 MAGNUM FOR WHAT WAS LEFT OF THE SEASON IN 73. IT ALSO TALKS ABOUT ENTERING THE 650 CLASS WITH IT'S NEW TRIPPLE. I'M JUST STATING WHAT THE BROCHURE SAYS THATS IT. NO STORRY ABOUT IT. GO TELL YOUR 2 POEPLE TO GET THERE FACTS STRAIGHT BECOUSE THEY DONT KNOW JACK SH!T. B.S.

I need a quick education on current Eagle River racing rules. I believe that only '73 model sleds race for the "World Championship". Just what then,...constitutes a "'73 " model? The build date or the model year it was made for? For example, if a sled is tagged on the tunnel with a manufacturing date of 11-15-72,.......does that sled qualify for the Eagle River championship? If so, why? What if the build date tag said 1-15-72? What if the build date was 1-1-73? Just what do the rules of ER say regarding this matter? I admit I am 3-D illiterate, so I have to ask why are there 2 different versions of the 3-D being reproduced,.....a '73 model and a '74 model? Was there really 2 different models or just a change of engines half way through the summer? signed, Looking For A 3-D Education In Elk River, Mn.

dale, that is what the rule states 1973 and older race sleds. i was able by pictures more than literature to prove that the 3d had tohatsu power--1973. we all know that 1974 3d had kohler power. i took pictures at the time to p.v.r. and showed them that the 1st 3d's had tohatsu power and so did the 1973 magnum.there was no advantage gain by running differnt glass. this is the reason i am able to run 3d glass on my sleds. as we all know a 3d is nothing more than a widend 1973 magnum. there is no advantage between the two sleds. that is why also polaris guys, yamaha guys, can run up to 1976 f/a jugs and cylinders on there motors in the 1973 and older class also, no advantage. so when i proved long before i even go this literatrure from gene that the 3d ran tohatsu power i was then able to run 3d glass. i was running 3d's 2 years before i got this literature. so like i said i have nothing to gain by what year the sled was even built. why are there 2 versions, abvisuly there was. differnt motor and differnt graphics. b.s.

So was there technically 2 different model years of 3-Ds( Tohatsu vs Kohler) or actually just 2 different versions of the same sled?

Rupp ran Tohatsu in 74. In fact 2 of the models ran Tohatsu motors. Only one model ran a Kohler. I have a picture of a 3-D with a Tohatsu but this does not mean it is a 73 sled.
