I was looking for 440 F/A pistons and am being told that stock bore pistons and rings are about impossible to find. I guess guys are boring them out and using fan or liquid twister pistons? The pistons I have are pretty nice and I'll probably re use them, but I have it apart....

RS Elko pistons are hard to fund,.......as you already found out. I wouldnt hestitate to use the old ones, if they are in decent condition.

F/A 340... things have dried up pretty much around here... really have to dig deep. The guy I got mine off has 3 more F/A's and just sold a 73 Magnum. I also got to touch a 600 tripple motor that was about new, it sold cheap. A freind made a few calls the other night and tracked down a 77 SRX... nice find. My 340 sno pro was right under my nose for 8 years. Had a couple beers with the guy one night and said I wanted to fix up an old ski doo. He said he had an old "snow donkey" in the barn 2 miles down the road... $900 later hehehe. Hey Bill, do you still have those Aaen pipes you used last year you said would be better for drag racing? We only go straight here in Maine.. too bad.

easy dale, easy!!!!!(lol) rog929 i still do have the pipes but the motor has been sold. if you are interrested give me a call or e-mail me. that is what most poeple are doing is boring the cylinders on the 440 f/a to the l/c size. i have about 8 pair of pistons left for the standard bore. i have tons of 340 pistons. they are the old g.p.i. pistons. poeple have told me that the new g.p.i. pistons are good but not for racing. the tolerances change to much. that is what was told to me?? b.s.
