My 76 Magnum gets completely out of control off the line sometimes. It pulls to the left so bad that it will take you right off the ice track. I've found that the only way to make it go halfways straight is to lean hard left once the throttle is blipped. Seems like the whole sled is torque'ing and is putting more track on the ground on the right side. Been thinking about adding some chisels on the left side of the track so maybe it will get better traction on that side hopefully keeping the sled straight. Anyone else ever had this problem, and what did you do to get rid of it. Thanks in advance.

Yup, Had a 76 merc 340 s/t/ mod stock that was wicked fast. Another guy rolled in and then it went left. It took us some time to figure out that it was the metal Z clip that attaches the left slide rail to the front suspension. The Z clip was bent and holding the left side of the track up just a little bit. So check the front cross on the sliders and see if it is cracked or bent. Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply Joe , this isn't the problem. I lowered the left rail 1/4 " and it did nothing. I wish the ice was good yet so I could experiment with a few things.

Rick , the only way I check this is by track alignment. I know my track is running straight to my suspension and to the drive axle. One thing I forgot to mention is that this problem first started happening this winter. I redid my studs in my track over the summer to get better traction. Last year I wasn't getting good traction. Now that i'm getting 100% hook up something is going on that I can't figure out.
Another thing I didn't mention in my first post was that you can aim the sled to the right and it will still go off to the left !!!!! The skis are off the ground when this is happening.

Josh you are going to have to adjust your track so it quits pulling to the left. make the right side tighter and the left side looser. I had this problem with the 73 nitro I had to run one side tighter then the other to make it go straighter. A few years later it was taken apart and it was pulling to the left again. I forgot about the track adjustment but it did not mater as that was the last year we ran the chassis now we have a 72 nitro to run.
