Hi will a 72 motor fit in a 73 body i am tring to fix up a 73 nitro with a bad motor i think it will bolt right up if any one can help thanks and RUPPS RULE  |

Yes, a 72 will bolt right on. However, the wiring harness will be different.

so what i need to redo the wireing too and how hard is it to go from points to cdi let me know thanks rupp fan

Sorry it took so long to get back. I've never changed out points to CDI before but have heard it isn't that bad. Or you could just get a wire harness for a 72 which is very similar to the 73. No dimmer for the headlight, brake switch setup is a little different but you could make the one you have work. Need a different voltage regulator too, but all that hopefully will come with the wire harness if you find a good used one.

Oh yeah, the headlamp is different too. Single element rather than a dual.
