Thanks for the reply rupplives. How did you ever find a 74 and 75 Rupp.....no one around around here (Arkansas) ever heard of them. I found mine sitting on the side of the road. The guy had just bought it from the junk yard. Guess that should have been a clue for me! Disassembled the engine....sure enough it was shot. Piston's cracked, cylinders scratched up and bearings all out. Found a 440 Kohler, hope to put it in, in a couple of weeks....we'll see how that goes. Sounds Like you shouldn't have much trouble with your 74 if it is from a dealer and new. ddpursley@gmail.com

I picked up a 74 over the weekend that runs, but needs carb and oiler work to be street worthy. How did your motor swap go?
