I have the option to either put a 340 or a 440 in my 1976 Rupp Nitro. I was wondering which of the engines would be better. Which one is faster, quicker, and the one that had the least amount of problems go wrong with them. Any information would be helpfull. MIKE

Also... The engine that i don't use i'm going to sell. What is a 340 or a 440 xenoah worth

Well, the 440 is going to be faster than the 340. The 340 still is quite the fast sled, though. I can't say I have seen heard of too many problems with either engine. The 340 was only offered in '76, so, personally, I would put the 340 in and sell the 440.
A 340 motor goes for about $250 typically and a 440 typically goes for about $300 to $350.
