Well if yopu are talking about working on them "in the field," we have some stands that we fashioned together that I would have to show you a pic of but it it's in the garage, we just have a come along hanging from the ceiling with a rachet strap connected to the hook that we hoist the sled up with.

I made a "big T" on wheels to put sled on. When I'm done working for the day,I just wheel it to a different spot out of my way.

I use this. I had back surgery a couple of years ago and working on the floor is not an option. I either sit in a cushioned office chair or stand up. I have a loader I use to get the sled on the table.

Looks to me like you're already using the best option there is.

Stole Ruppluvers T-stand idea. This is for a 4H project. I tried to get him (my son) to paint it green with a 4H logo, but he chose this instead: Before epoxy coating: Using a torch to raise the air bubbles in the epoxy coating:

Only picture of my "T" carts.Have 4,all have sleds on them.I make mine from treated lumber,2x12's cut down to about 8" wide for main beam.8" wide piece for the front of the T.2 non turning wheels on front, swivel wheel on back. Have a chain loop front/back,so I can pull them with my ATV. They work quite well. I had the lumber on hand,I could only salvage pieces 8 inches or so.

He has $ 140 into it, so it's not really something we'll be making again. The epoxy coating was the expensive part (cost $60). He earned a trip to the Minnesota State Fair. The judge was confused by it. I have plenty of 2 x 12 lumber, so the next one is going to look more like Dan's design. This one was just for fun.

Found a couple pictures of the cross! 2 stationary wheels in front,1 swivel in the back.I usually have a chain on both the front & the rear.I can hook a log chain to the back & pull it with my ATV!! OR hook this setup to my winch, when I take my sled to a show. Works out well for me.

Well, as it turns out....the state fair judge was confused by it as well. He earned a blue ribbon out of it, though. In 4H, you are judged on the construction of the project (50%) AND your interview (50%). Even if you have a stellar project, you can come away with a poor award because you didn't interview (explain the project and answer questions) well. The awards are participation, white, red, blue, and purple. Purple would be a champion project in that particular project class. This project was entered in the Wood/Shop Science class. It was a good time.

This is the latest one I made. It is 44" wide,84" long. It has 2 stationary 5" wheels[in front],one swivel 5" wheel[on the back long piece]. Wheels are steel with rubber tire, each can support 320 lbs.Got them from Harbor Freight in Fargo,ND. Have a chain on front & back,so I can tow it with my 4 wheeler!! The lumber is treated 2x6's.
