we are having trouble with the circuit board and can't get the instrument panel to light up or tac to work. is there a common problem with them or is there a trick. we are getting power to the board.

Unplug your voltage regulator. It may be shorted out. Quite common.

Don't unplug it unless you plug another one in !!!!!!

The voltage regulator is important, but up to 6000 RPM, it will not hurt to run/test without it.
