This has to be the grandaddy of them all!! A chance to bid & buy a couple of nice sleds,ride on the lake,good drags,good food & plenty of BS flowing!! I have a chance to go this year & be a spectator,probably my one & only time I'll go. I won't be buying any sleds,but will be on the lookout for stuff I can't live without. I have some stuff to pick up also.Who plans on going  ;D ;D |

Saw a few people there that I knew personally & from the sled boards. Rick,thanks for letting me warm up in your trailer. Saw stretch & his wife,but didn't get a chance to see their sleds. Sorry,I missed you sticks, I think I got the right sleds from your truck!! Saw cp & Ben,Clint Grandahl[he was decked out in his Rupp attire],Rampage from MPLS,pooch,alot more too. It was about 2 degrees above zero in the morning,with a little wind.Watched some of the drags,those sleds really ripped! There were some very nice sleds,EVERYwhere,also ride what ya got types. Was a little disappointed in the swap,with all the hype about Waconia,I figured it would have been bigger.But,all in all,it was very nice & seemed well organized,my hat is off to everyone involved in putting it on.

My oldest and I were there for a little while. We checked out the swap meet, bought some red fuel line from Rick, talked to a fellow Rupp enthusiast while we warmed up in the showroom (Phil from Roseville, if I remember right), picked up a couple shirts, then headed home. We had a family function in the afternoon we had to be back home for. We didn't even get a chance to check out any racing. I wonder if the fella selling the 1971 44 Sprint with the slide suspension got his $350 out of it? Not too much Rupp stuff. We pulled in there about 9am and the sleds were being pulled out of the swap meet left and right. Gotta get there early.....

You didn't see me??? I had a green army parka on,a green/white Minn-Dak stocking cap & was carrying all my money around in a black briefcase!! It said Rupp luver on my left side of parka. Did I say it was cold.
