hello i am new here. i just picked up a mint 72 nitro with 343 miles on it but the motor tag is gone. is there any other way to identify what motor it is? thanks

Lets start with this!
Do you know if you have a small block or Big block?
295 & 340cc (small block Tohatsu)
400 & 440cc ( Big block Tohatsu)
you can pull the clutch off, the cc size is stamp in the base of the cylinder

i am sure that is a 440. i have a 72 rally also and they look the same. im looking to see if its en S motor.

That should also be stamped in the base of the cylinder.
you can also pull your exhaust and look in the exhaust port, the cylinders on the S engine are chrome plated.
