Bill, I think the heads are really cool! On another note, while we are on cool engines....I remember a while back you made a triple out of a couple wide base kohlers, ever thought about trying that with a xenoah 440?

i have to wait and see what the new rules are, the 800 class may be open instead of 800 f/a then the l/c sleds could run in the class. i have a xenoah tripple bottom end already. that may be in the plans.!!! the triple kohler isnt done yet but it will be soon. when i get farther along i will post some pics of that!!.
ed, thanks for the info, it looks like i have one head then for the 650.

Since there was only 10 serial numbers (and 10 being a nice even number).......and one engine has no serial number, it would lead me to believe that was probably a prototype. Just guessing, but I know that where I work, we never serial number prototypes, only "production" assemblies. That being said, prototypes still make it out to the field, or even to a customer......that is how we do real world tests.

Kevin, the 440 cylinders are not canted like the other Tohatsu engines. Approximately 1.5 inches shorter than the 650, its just a smaller version of the 650. The pic shows the comparison to the 650. Dan the 440 was raced in a sled for sure! maybe Ed can post pictures.
