Had her down to bare tunnel, most every nut & bolt replaced w/ new , etc. Had to move this fall or would have been racing it this season. Did a jackshaft conversion for alittle more strength and I did get clearance from most race directors as I used a jackshaft/case from a sled only one year newer Dale. What they have a problem with is people putting longer, or custom billet, or changing the drive shaft location in Mod Stock classes.

Looks Good. Question? With the jack shaft in it did you rework the opening in the hood to get more air to the pto side. Was thinking about doing the same thing only with a Kohler triple. The hood opening didn't look like it would allow enough air to the pto cylinder.

I had Bill paint and decal the hood before I got that far. After the hood was sitting on the shelf I was layin in bed one night & the old light bulb went off, hmmmm, when doing jack shaft conversions on RV Doo's you have to go with the sno pro hood because of moving motor over, sh!!!t, gonna have to butcher up new hood! Well I ended up with 3/4 of pto head exposed, made revisions to get a bunch of air to crank case & rest of motor so I'm going to leave as is for now. Sled is only going 500ft per blast & then getting hit with a leaf bower. I do have electronic monitoring of head temps, do not think it will be a problem. I did get out & make two - three blasts down the track on a 29deg day and looks like I will have more problem getting it hot enough for pipes to make max power, head temps good.

Yeah, when I look at Glenda's hood I think if I just square up the vent a little more(like on the 71 FA hoods) I should be able to get all 3 cylinders/heads exposed pretty good. Another mod I had to do to Glenda's was put a couple vents in the back of the hood(I copied the 76 style hoods) to let air out. Under speed we got so much air pressure under the hood it would lift off the bumper and started damageing the hood.
