Sticks, this is one of the 73's I got from you!! I will repair the bottom of this steel bulkhead! It is rusty, dented & really thin in spots.I will cut it out & replace with new steel!! Most of the bad is cut out! I left a small border of steel on 3 sides to weld new steel to. I drilled out the spot welds on the front part, new piece will fit pretty good,I hope.I will put some braces in there for strength. After I get it welded back together,I will take it out & get it sandblasted, then painted. I will also rebuild the engine mounts. It's a 73 tunnel, but sled will be put back together as a 71,440WT!! The only reason I'm fixing the bulkhead,is that I want to use the forged, offset spindles! It might seem like lot of work to some of you,but the labor to use the spindles will be worth it!! I'm used to fabricating parts for my sleds,I was a blacksmith in the US Army!!!!!!!!!

drrupp, yes I know that,I've got some of them.I've got lots of the forged, offset ones for the 73's,thought I would use up 1 good set here,on the steel bulkhead. I repaired the steel one here, because I didn't want to use an aluminum tunnel/bulkhead for this build. I need the practice fixing broken/busted/rusted out parts.

All I do is keep starting mine I just cant seem to get serious right now ! I need to take motor out of one and put your single carb fitting on it , then straighten skies I have to clean and paint 3 pairs of skies sand hood and paint on my rally . check and fix sliders on another ,clean motor and put it in a sport chassis, rewire and fill fluid in my liquid . the sled Iam taking motor out of needs secondary clutch fixed ,belt will not go down between sleeves far enough. Iam sure there is something I forgot . I bet Iam going to end up with all of them apart just when the snow comes back. oh darn !!

I'm beginning to think most of mine are going to be labeled as such. The ones I have fixed up,don't go out much;the ones that look like hell,do!!! Go figure.

I sold this work of art with an engine, back in 2013 or 2014.Just got it back today, after sitting in the same place since the guy bought it,OUTSIDE!!! I traded a few items the guy needed,Scorpion parts. He oval races a 73 Nitro & Scorpions. Both these sleds were mine, bought prior to 2013!! The Sprint 29 needs tunnel replaced, but got a NICE tunnel with it today.I sold both to the same guy,in 2013 or 2014.Gave him a package deal,I think he bought 5 sleds. The 440WT,needs a good cleaning, seat & an engine!! I have 2 good 440's I can pick from.

Went out to my cold storage building & brought this sled up to the shop.It smelled as if it was full of mice,it stunk bad!! I pulled the gas tank, yup, the mice had built a nest in the bulkhead. This is a 73 tunnel w/steel bulkhead. it has holes for entry into bulkhead, for whatever reason,I do not know.I cleaned it out & put some screen over the BIG holes!! Have to "mouse proof" everything.Pain in the azz. Mouse proofed!! I have a 73-440 ready for this sled. I took the CDI off & converted it to points.CDI boxes are getting hard to find & expensive. My "Yamaha" guru friend, times all my engines,he gets them right on. Even tho this sled sat outside for 4 years,it was still in pretty good shape. This has a very nice dual drive track on it.I picked up some seat foam for it in August. The gas tank was CLEAN,just like it was when I sold it.I can tell my sleds,by the "dimples" I put on the running boards.I picked up 3 more Rupps from this same guy, yup, one of the sleds,a 72 Yankee, had the dimples in the tunnel. My old sleds are coming home to roost.

I got the engine in,it runs on spray.I'll hook up gas lines & see if it will stay running. This sled will be up for sale, once its done.I'm just using up my extra engines etc. After this one,I'll get a 72 Yankee thrown together, then down the road it will go.I can't see those good engines & parts just sitting there!!!!

After looking at the wiring harness,I yanked it out & cut out all the un-necessary wires.I finished it up today,& to my amazement, everything works.
