Yup,you guessed it!! I'm taking 2 mufflers that were junk bound & making one good one. Yes,I have lots of time to do this & will continue to do these short how to's. This is what I'm starting with. The top is ok,BOTTOM is junk! Starting to cut bottom off. The bottom can be cut off without disturbing anything on the top side! The top section will clean up ok,BUT not the bottom! I have to replace part of the exhaust bell piece. Will ENLARGE the holes in pipe. Heres 3 of the 4 pieces it will take to fix the bottom of muffler. The 3 pcs sitting on the top section.Still have to cut & form the 4th piece. This is actually fun so far.The muffler uses thicker steel than the gas tanks.

Muffler is done.Ya I know, the welds look like crap!! These old oil impregnated mufflers are still tough to weld. )You must remember,I'm NOT a CERTIFIED welder. Next muffler I redo,I will use one piece for the bottom. Will look alot better. Heck, you can't see the bottom ANYWAY!!!!

The only thing I did,was to make the holes bigger in the pipe that dumps into the chamber before exhausting out.I replaced the bottom of muffler & part on the exhaust intake bell. Thats it.
