Greetings, New to the forum and very impressed. I have an old 250 Xenoah that i thought i would freshen up for a little project sled. Can you tell me what year/model this engine came out of? Is there any truth that a red vin tag on the motor meant it was from a Magnum? Was there a different 250 that went into the Nitro vs The Mag? the vin is 2-500365 model is G25BWR I will post pics along the way of my rebuild. Thanks, Cragar

To my knowledge all 250's were the same the difference in the color was either a difference in year or if it was for a chaparrel. Cant remember. Engines were the same in the nitro and magnum that i do know. pipes were the same too. I would think Bill Stull or Kevin Hasse can help you out with parts for the rebuild. Kevin does amazing machine work for me a few times a year. As far as the year of the enginei think its either a 76 or 77. Good to have you on board Crager!!

The way I remember it. The Red tag was the 440, Blue was the 340 and black was the 250.
Kevin I have 440's that start with a 5 and 340 that start with a 3. Are you sure the 250 would start with a 5? I don't even know what the first number stands for just asking so I will know if someone was to ask me.

Thanks for the quick info. Yes I will need good gasket set and seals. Haven't miked the cylinders yet, but I might get away with freshen up the bores and just re-ringing it. Thanks Cragar S.Georgian Bay
