What do you guys think the horsepower difference is between the 2? I wish rupp would have ran a jackshaft in 75! Would have made it easier to fit larger carbs.

I run 38 carbs on my Nitro II with no issues. I did run a stock gas tank until it cracked. I am now using a F/A tank which gives you more room.

They must barely fit in there huh? Pretty close to the secondary.

If you use the Nitro II intakes they have an angle that kicks the carbs away from the secondary. There is clearance to slip a belt by....

Don't know the horsepower difference but my T/T whipped my Nitro II but good, I can also tell you that m T/T is no match for my 76 Nitro 340. All are stock with clutch work.

Hmmmm... I'm sure there are many possibilities for that outcome including gear ratio, clutch diameters, engine RPM etc.
It would have been really cool if the Nitro II was a jack shaft chassis with room for a good exhaust. I had a Trail Twister for a while but my heart bleeds Rupp Red...... (plus I have so many Rupp parts!)
I like the Nitro II styling more that the T/T and the liquid Nitros so I put all my effort to make the Nitro II competitive (ice ovals). I am getting there.
Live it up Rupp!

Jim have you ever raced at Eagle River yet? Ive running my nitro II there for quite a while and dont remember any others there other than a few that run the sno cross with them. Didnt race the nitro II much last year but ive been hitting it pretty hard the last week or so going through the front end and going to stuff a different motor in it and larger carbs. Should be a fun year!

No I haven't been to Eagle River. It is on my "bucket list" of things to do but I haven't made it. I race the BEVRA circuit here in lower SW Michigan. It was my first year last year. Had lots of fun but I need to work on clutching and other chassis setups, not to mention get in better shape for racing. We run 3 lap sprints which is OK. The 10 lap Stud Boy challange kicked my arse! Someday, maybe next year, I will make it to ER for the Granddaddy of ice ovals! Keep use posted on your status. First race for me is Jan 4th! I hope I and the sled are ready.

I used to tell him that anytime he wanted to give it a whirl he could take my seat but he never did. It is amazing how much a race can take out of you.
