I just took the 440 for a spin and I'm still alive! That 718 he has for sale, can't imagine what it's like. He says he raced it once. That gives us a hint.

Can't imagine! Just know that the 440 I have, that his dad built over 40 yrs ago, is an adrenalin rush & thats just going 500ft straight then shutting it down. I know your 440 has way more Sperry tricks done to it! Then figure you are given it everything it has and slamming it into a corner, on glare ice, with sleds a cpl. ft away on each side of you! That 718 would be fun to convert to drag but you'ld really have to have a "BIG SET" to strap it on for ovals.

Hoots you got that right! I got no death wish. I talked to Jay jr about the triple and he asked what I'd do with it. I said rework it into a drag sled. He wasn't impressed. Expensive drag sled, but if I joined Weight Watchers, trophies guaranteed.(if it passed tech)

I know that this 'little' 440 won overall points Pro Vintage in '07, I dunno how Jay did in Open Mod. I saw him grab 3rd in Open Mod with it in '06 at Eagle River. When it comes to mid-mount sleds, maybe his lap times were close comparing both sleds? If so,why wrestle with Godzilla?

That's a great sled Jay built. Thought about buying it but it scared the crap out of me. Should be very very fast.

The risk is well worth the thrill of speed. There is nothing in the world like going ski to ski against other drivers on sleds like this!

Not aluminum. That's a 76 Magnum, came from Todd Priessel.

He painted it white for some reason. Red19lite built me an engine for it. It's getting an Aerocharger kit. The sled came with a turf track and Wahl ski's and suspension. I picked up one of Bill's custom Magnum hoods for it.
