On my 76 440 liquid, Im getting some dirty oil coming out from mag side stator housing drain hole? Bunch of oil on motor plate means seal is worned out? But runs great but idles good at 3,000 rpm In cold and when temp reach to 110 to 120 it idles down to 1000 to 500rpm sometimes can quit idling.

If you did not replace the seals I would,, you do not have to split the cases!

Mag Side can be replaced without splitting the cases, I did mine, pry out the old seal and press in the new seal

Really? I didn't know that and how to prime it out without damaging the housing?

My seal was really bad, only the outer part was left and I was very careful prying it out, no damage! Attachment Deleted

Glad it worked out for you. Not to hi-jack this, but if the cases don't have to come apart, doesn't the rubber come off the outside of the seal as it is pounded or pressed back in? That is a VERY tight fit.I tried on an old engine & I had some of the rubber stuck to case.Just wondering. Thanks.
