dave, first of all thanks to my son ed, he is the wrench behind all our sleds, he knows them inside and out rupp magnum to arctic cat snopro, (john deere too)can't get anything past him, it all started with my dads 800 magnum my dad bought new, i was able to purchase the sled back in 1983 and that was the start to a collection of various sleds. my love is the 71 magnum free air, the 800 in the video i bought from out east north of boston mass. it was a basket case but ready for resto just had to put her together, the 600 i purchased in minn. I just added an nos hood and a few other items to be able to ride it. the 600 is awesome, the crack of the tohatsu is like no other. all you have to do is drive out to michigan and jump on she always has gas in her. ed

You Guys definitely win the "Triple" Crown Award I think dad and I have over 15 sleds with triples if you include all brands. I think I may even have a 600 Magnum stashed away somewhere?@??!!! I can't post all the pix of the triple rupps. You might have to wait until Rupp Fest to check out a few!

How 'bout a few "non Rupps". Surely some of you guys have more layin' around that just RED! 77 440 Moto-Ski Super Sonic. When I got this sled it was in near mint original condition, except the hood was painted black...I repainted the original hood. It was my first base/clear paint job...turned out decent 76 250 Merc. This is the first vintage race sled I bought about 10 years ago...back then vintage on the internet was very limited...You could search on ebay for old snowmobiles and maybe turn up 3 pages or so. Classifieds page that is now long gone would be lucky to have 3 pages of new adds a week when it was busy. And met a few hooligans in a chatroom on maximumsled.com. A lot of those guys have even bowed out of the sport...one of the old duffer's is still around, ain't they SnoSnake So no biotchin' they're not red, I'm just glad to have a place to post this stuff these days!

Bank: How do you get those engines so sparkly clean? I've never been able to get that good of a result.

Different methods for different situations I guess. The pic of the 650 triple was done by Mike Reinbolt at the Cat Shack. He used his exclusive ReNuzit process on it and it turned out beutiful. The engine was just terrible to start with, the dirt was bonded right to the aluminum and he got 'er squeaky clean! On engines that aren't stained really bad I use different degreasers and cleaners. But for that "perfect" restoration, ReNuzit is the only way to go. I'll post before and after pictures of the 650 when I get time....
