Not enough air overheated it then blew out both head gaskets. Turns out it doesn't run good hot and with no compression

You might want to look into a Magnum hood with bigger vents. Also you might try making some air ducts from the belly pan. Its going to need all the help it can get.

With the megaphone's on there your going to have to fatten it up some. Remember you do not have any back pressure so all of the air is just a whistling through the engine. Whats it look like under the heads?

Yea I was thinking about a magnum hood but I don't wanna spend the money for one so it just might get a big ugly hole in it. It looked lean very lean. No carbon on the pistons they are still pretty clean actually

How about the spark plugs?

FA engines, have lots MORE cooling area[the fins on head are HIGHER] than a regular fan engine. MOST FA's have the heads sticking through the hood,or there is a big hole in front of it.Whenever you have a FA engine,no matter wheres it's mounted,IT HAS TO HAVE lots of AIR for cooling.More ducts need to be cut in hood.OR run with hood off.I never ran my FA's unless it was below +10 degrees. They love the cold weather, but I didn't!! dacota25d,take this as a learning experience & correct your mistakes. It's a cool sled, but it probably won't take too many more bad days like it had. You certainly had the "hot" part of the description right.

How about the spark plugs? spark plugs didn't look to bad but did appear a little lean. When I get new gaskets I'll probably end up cutting a hole in the hood and richen it up a bit and try again
